Ayah Player Privacy Policy

Effective August 13, 2026

Ayah Player is part of Ayah Apps and is operated by Nowari Solutions. This policy explains what Ayah Player stores, receives, and shares.

Summary

  • An Ayah Account is optional for browsing, reading, listening, downloading, and device settings.
  • Personal saves, Quran Activity, last-read position, goals, and plans require an account and synchronize through the Ayah Apps service.
  • Downloads, raw recent-playback history, searches, repeat state, and private practice recordings remain on your device.
  • Ayah Player does not record personal Activity while you are signed out.
  • Ayah Player does not include advertising SDKs, sell personal information, or track you across apps and websites.
  • Problem reports are sent only when you deliberately submit one and are not automatically linked to your Ayah Account.

Information stored on your device

Ayah Player stores app information locally so its features work. This may include account workspace caches, recent playback, playback position, downloads, selected translations, reading settings, display language, theme, repeat settings, and private practice recordings.

When signed out, account-owned personal records are hidden. Removing app data or uninstalling the app may permanently remove device-only information, recordings, and account caches that have not synchronized.

Optional Ayah Account and synchronization

If you create or use an Ayah Account, authentication is provided by WorkOS. Ayah Player receives and stores an internal account identifier, your email address, profile name, and any profile photo you choose. WorkOS processes the authentication information needed to create and secure the account.

The Ayah Apps service synchronizes selected display and reading settings, favorite reciters and recitations, playlists, bookmarks, notes, ayah folders, self-assessed learning progress, last-read position, Quran Activity, Quran completion, lifetime listening totals grouped by reciter and Surah, listening goals, and reading plans. It synchronizes compact daily totals and Quran-reference sets, not a raw event-by-event reading or playback log. This information is linked to your account and used only to provide account, synchronization, security, export, and deletion functionality.

Ayah Player does not record personal Activity, last-read position, goals, plans, bookmarks, notes, folders, favorites, or playlists while you are signed out. Signing in starts Activity collection from that point; earlier signed-out reading or listening is not estimated or added to the account. A previously signed-in account can continue recording locally while offline and synchronize when the connection returns.

Signing out hides the account's personal workspace on that device. Signing into another account restores only that account's records. Older app versions may have personal items saved before an account was required; the app keeps those upgrade-only items separate and asks before adding them to an account. You can edit the profile, export the stored account record, sign out, or delete the account from the Ayah Account screen. Deleting the account removes its synchronized records and identity from the Ayah Apps account service; device-only data remains until you remove it through the app or device controls.

Information that does not synchronize

Downloaded recitation audio and translations, private practice recordings, raw recent-playback entries and resume details, repeat state, and searches are not included in Ayah Account synchronization.

Microphone and private recordings

If you choose to record your own recitation in Practice Mode, Ayah Player requests microphone access. Recordings are stored in the app's private local storage for your own listen-back. The current app does not upload, transcribe, analyze, grade, or share these recordings.

Audio, text, images, and downloads

Ayah Player connects to external providers when it streams or downloads Qur'an recitation audio, translation data, fonts, or other credited content. Providers may receive ordinary network-request information, including your IP address, user agent, and the requested resource. Ayah Player does not control provider server logs or privacy practices.

Optional problem reports

If you deliberately submit a problem report, the app sends the report over HTTPS. A report may contain your message, report type, platform, app version, selected locale, and relevant reciter, surah, audio source, audio URL, current value, or suggested value.

The reporting service stores the report, a one-way hash derived from network information for spam prevention, and the user agent. It does not store the raw IP address or attach an advertising identifier. Reports are used to investigate and document app, catalog, timing, artwork, translation, or playback issues and are not automatically linked to your Ayah Account.

Permissions

  • Internet: streams and downloads app content and submits reports you choose to send.
  • Media playback and foreground service: keeps recitation playback available in the background.
  • Notifications: provides media controls where supported.
  • Microphone: records your private local practice only when you start recording.

Analytics and advertising

The current app does not include advertising SDKs or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs. It does not use your information for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Children

Ayah Player is suitable for general audiences but is not directed specifically at children. An account is optional. A parent or guardian should supervise account creation where required by applicable law. Private recordings remain local.

Retention and deletion

Local app data remains until you remove it through the app or device controls. Ayah Account profile and synchronization records remain while the account exists and are removed through in-app account deletion, subject to short operational backups or records required for security and legal compliance. Submitted reports are retained while needed to investigate and document the issue. You may request deletion of a submitted report by contacting support with enough detail to identify it.

Security

Ayah Player minimizes collection and uses encrypted HTTPS for network services it controls. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, but unnecessary personal information is intentionally avoided.

Changes

Updates to this policy will be published at this permanent URL. Material changes affecting app data will also be reflected in the app or store listing as appropriate.
