What counts toward the goal?
We add App Store app downloads and Google Play device installs since launch. Redownloads count; updates don’t. This is a download count, not a count of individual people. Store definitions differ, and both reports are counted through the same date. We check daily; Google’s reports can lag by 3–7 days. The goal includes downloads through December 31, 2026, using each store’s reporting dates.

Return to what matters
Sign in to an Ayah Account for favorite reciters and recitations, playlists, bookmarks, private ayah notes and folders. Supported Player records can synchronize across your devices. Personal saves and Activity need an account; listening, reading and downloads do not.
Share an ayah
Share Qur’an passages as text or Ayah Cards, choose an ayah range, and send a recitation link that leads back to Player. These are Player sharing tools; Ayah Studio’s separate video-creation direction is still in development.

Use Player on iPhone, iPad, Android phones or Android tablets. Choose your app language, Arabic font and reading appearance, switch between light, dark and automatic themes, and report catalog or audio issues from the app.

Yes. The current app is free, with no subscriptions or paywalls. Core listening, reading, browsing, search and downloads work without an account.
Are there ads?
No. Player is designed without ads, so listening and reading stay focused.
Is there an iPhone version?
Yes. Ayah Player is available for iPhone through the App Store link on this page.
Is there an Android version?
Yes. Ayah Player is available for Android through the Google Play link on this page.
Does it work on tablets?
Yes. Player supports iPad and Android tablets as well as phones.
Does the text follow the recitation?
Where timing is available, Player can follow ayah by ayah, word by word or letter by letter. Support depends on the selected recitation; not every reciter has every kind of timing.
Can I save reciters and recitations?
Yes. Sign in to an Ayah Account to save favorite reciters and recitations in your personal library. Browsing and listening remain available without sign-in.
Can I make playlists?
Yes. An Ayah Account lets you create playlists for routines, study or your own listening sessions. You can also build and reorder the current playback queue.
Can I listen offline?
Yes. Download recitations while connected, then listen offline. Downloads and their storage stay on your device and do not require an account. Streaming new audio or downloading new content needs a connection.
Can I help correct catalog or audio issues?
Yes. Use the app’s reporting tools for incorrect reciter details, artwork, wrong audio or broken links. For other problems, use the Player Support link below.
Can I change the language and appearance?
Yes. Player supports multiple app languages, including Arabic and English. You can choose Arabic fonts, translations and transliteration, and use light, dark or automatic themes. Translation availability depends on the content you download.
Will audio keep playing in the background?
Yes. Player supports background listening and playback with the screen locked, using the mini player, full-screen player and system media controls.
Can I suggest a feature?

How is Player different from Ayah Studio?
Player is the available listening and reading app. Studio is a separate Qur’an-aware recitation and video-creation product in development; it is not publicly released. Player already includes its own text, card and recitation-link sharing tools.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to browse, read, listen, search or download. Personal saves, playlists, notes and Qur’an Activity require an optional Ayah Account. Supported Player records can synchronize across devices; this does not mean shared sync is available across all Ayah products.
What are the four reader views?
Ayahs presents Arabic text with translations and reader actions. Words follows aligned words when timing is available. Mushaf Page uses a fixed-page Qur’an layout. Listening Scene focuses on recitation with visual scenes and optional ambient sound. Availability depends on the selected recitation.
Can I use translations, tafsir, notes and repeat?
Yes. You can download translations, read tafsir and repeat an ayah, a selected passage or a surah. Saving bookmarks and private ayah notes requires an Ayah Account; reading and listening do not.
How can I share an ayah?
Player offers text sharing, Ayah Cards, selected ayah ranges and recitation links. Choose the supported sharing action in the app; a recipient can open the link in Player or its browser fallback.
